2018 is a very special year, as the Republic of Estonia celebrated its 100th anniversary on 24th February! In light of this event, Tallinn University and Neurotheatre Collective is honoured to visit Russia and hold a one-week extensive hands-on course in interaction design at ITMO University, St Petersburg.

Tallinn Summer School has long history of providing the course “Experimental Interaction Design: Physiological Computing Technologies for Performative Arts” with a different focus every year. The course in St Petersburg will be about Neurotheatre, a specific type of interactive theatre where the audience and/or actors can communicate via brain and neural computer interfaces using multimodal sensors and actuators. The course will take place 26th to 31st August 2018. In order to open the topic to a wider audience, the course will start with an open lecture “Neurotheatre as a Research Tool” on 26th August at 17:00. The open lecture will be held at a very unique location - New Stage of Alexandrinsky Theatre and will be open to everyone interested in the topic. On the 31st August, when the course will be officially finished, everyone is also invited to the New Stage of Alexandrinsky Theatre to see the participants’ coursework. The event will start at 21:00. “Experimental Interaction Design” course will be led by Tallinn University School of Digital Technologies lecturers and mentors.
