ECCE 2025 Conference in Tallinn University
The primary role of the European Conference on Cognitive Ergonomics (ECCE) is to serve as the premier annual platform for researchers, practitioners, and academics in Europe to share advancements, ideas, and discussions in the fields of cognitive ergonomics . It is organized by the European Association of Cognitive Ergonomics (EACE) and Tallinn University’s School of Digital Technologies hosts the 36th edition.

Cognitive ergonomics focuses on the study of mental processes as they affect interactions among humans and other elements of a system. Its importance lies in optimizing the design of systems, interfaces, and workplaces to best suit human mental capabilities and limitations.
This field acts as the scientific bedrock for both Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) by providing principles based on human mental capabilities to design digitally enabled solutions. In very simple terms, it ensures that in HCI, interfaces are intuitive and reduce unnecessary cognitive load and in TEL, it guides the design of educational content and platforms to align with how people learn and process information.
