Erasmus logoErasmus+ is the EU Programme in the fields of education, training, youth and sport. It gives students the ability to participate in exchange programs at partner universities in Europe and outside of the European Union. Exchange is possible with universities with whom Tallinn University has signed an Erasmus+ agreement.

Main application round for long-term exchange studies is from 15.02 - 01.03.2025!

Long-term exchange studies

- Can last from 2 - 12 months.

- Student has completed at least the first semester of degree studies.

Sufficient language skills are required for the studies abroad. 

- Student has the right to participate in the Erasmus+ Student Mobility (exchange studies and/or traineeship) for up to 12 months at every study level.

- Application period 2 times a year.

 

Short-term exchange studies

- Can last from 5 - 30 days.

- Student has completed at least the first semester of degree studies.

- Mandatory virtual component.

Sufficient language skills are required for the studies abroad.

- Student has the right to participate in the Erasmus+ Student Mobility (exchange studies and/or traineeship) for up to 12 months at every study level.

- The application period depends on the programme.

 

Long-term traineeship

- Can last from 2 - 12 months.

- Student has to be enrolled in Tallinn University study programme during the time of applying and traineeship.

- Student has to have sufficient knowledge of the language spoken in the host organisation (at least B1). 

- Student has the right to participate in the Erasmus+ Student Mobility (exchange studies and/or traineeship) for up to 12 months at every study level.

- Application must be submitted at least 2 months before the start of the traineeship.

- Applications are accepted throughout the year, except in July!

Short-term traineeship

- Can last from 5 - 30 days.

Traineeship for Recent Graduate

- Can last up to 6 months (long-term).

- Must be carried out and completed within one year from graduation.

- Student has to have sufficient knowledge of the language spoken in the host organisation (at least B1). 

- Student has the right to participate in the Erasmus+ Student Mobility (exchange studies and/or traineeship) for up to 12 months at every study level.

- Application and supporting documents must be submitted at least 2 months before graduation.

 

 

 

Erasmus+ programme allows you to participate in student mobility for up to 12 months at every study-level, with the possibility of combining different options. There are numerous options for creating a study abroad experience that is right for you!

For example, you can study abroad in different countries and higher education institutions, combine both short- and long-term exchange studies and Erasmus+ traineeships and so on.

Below are some illustrative examples of combining Erasmus+ student mobility opportunities:

  • Sofia spent one semester as an exchange student in Austria and later participated in two short-term exchange studies in Germany and Finland.
  • Martin spent one semester as an exchange student in Portugal and 4 months as a trainee in Latvia.
  • Laura spent one academic year as an exchange student in Turkey and later completed a short-term blended traineeship in Croatia.
  • Tom spent his fall semester as an exchange student in Spain and his spring semester as an exchange student in the Netherlands.
