QS Subject Rankings confirm the world-class educational sciences of Tallinn University

QS published this year’s world universities rankings by subject and Tallinn University’s educational sciences now holds a place among 201–250 best in the world.

According to 2022 QS Subject Rankings, Tallinn University is the leading university in Educational Sciences in Estonia.

According to Tiia Õun, the Director of the School of Educational Sciences, the improvement in the ranking comes from high-level international research cooperation and as well from university’s reputation among employers and partners. “We have put a lot of effort into our educational innovation focus field and interdisciplinary research and development. In addition, we have improved our school’s cooperation with other institutions,” said Õun.

The ranking is largely based on research and its visibility. The evaluation takes into account academic and employer reputation, the number of citations and the H-index. The latter shows the productivity of researchers in writing academic publications.

Last year, Tallinn University’s education sciences held a place among 251–300 best universities in the world. Tallinn University’s educational sciences are also the best in Estonia according to the Times Higher Education’s latest rankings.
