The 4th Annual "Lotman Days" dedicated to Yuri Lotman, a semiotician and
culturologist, will be held in Tallinn University from 8–10 June
2012.This year’s conference is inspired by Lotman’s seminal paper, "#On
thbeeb7692c0f5faa8f9139b048e17a98b.rtf#". The discussion will focus on the
problem which is posed in this paper (must the researcher desist from
attempts to interpret patently unreliable sources?) and a wider range of
questions connected with the fundamental issue in the humanities –
“between” the fact and the researcher there is always a text. The
conference languages will be Russian and English.
