Estonian Teachers Association, Tallinn Education Department and Tallinn University Centre for Innovation in Education hold the conference "21st Century Teacher" on Thursday, 28 November in Tallinn University Astra building, room A002.

Estonian educationalists and the guest speaker Professor Pasi Sahlberg will discuss the changes and expectations that teachers face nowadays, what the teachers need and lack, how to best help them, and many other issues.

Pasi Sahlberg is Finnish educator and scholar. He worked as schoolteacher, teacher educator and policy advisor in Finland and has analysed education systems and reforms around the world. His expertise includes international education policies, educational change, future of schooling, and classroom teaching and learning. His bestseller book “Finnish Lessons: What can the world learn from educational change in Finland” (Teachers College Press, 2011) won the 2013 Grawemeyer Award. He is currently Director General of CIMO (National Centre for International Mobility and Cooperation) at the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture in Helsinki. He has PhD in educational sciences, masters degree in mathematics, and teachers diploma to teach mathematics and science.
 

The registration for the conference starts at 9.15 a.m. and the official part begins at 10.
Professor Sahlberg will be speaking 10.20-11.20.
