Around 500-600 people study Chinese every year in Estonia. In 2014, 179 students took Chinese language and culture courses at the Tallinn University Confucius Institute.

The spring semester is beginning and the Confucius Institute awaits everyone to get acquainted with the new courses, workshops, Chinese music and tea ceremonies on Saturday, January 24th at the TU Mare building (Uus-Sadama 5).

 

Schedule:

11:00-11:45 Tea ceremony - enjoy real Chinese tea and music. Instructions by Li Xuan and Zhou Min. Room M136.

12:00-13:20 Painting of Beijing Opera masks. Lecturers Li Xuan and Huang Xiuping. Room M133.

12:00-13:20 Virtual tour of China (in English). Lecturer Qionxi Xu. Room M136.

13:30-14:15 Chinese art and music course for children (in Russian). Room M133.

13:30-14:15 Chinese and the ancient logic of characters (in English). Lecturer Yaley Wang. Room M136.

13:30-16:00 Secrets of the Chinese landscape painting. Lecturer Priit Kelder. Room M136.

13:30-16:00 Chinese ink and wash painting. Lecturer Kristiina Kraft. Room M439.

Confucius Institute is a Chinese language and culture centre, which is part of the international network of Confucius Institutes, based in Hanban. There are close to 440 Confucius Institutes, which operate through cooperation between a foreign University and Chinese universities. Tallinn University's Confucius Institute works since autumn 2010.

Confucius Institute specializes in teaching Chinese language and culture, sharing information about studying in China and grants. The Institute also promotes cooperation between Estonia and the People's Republic of China.
