Guests form Finland will visit Institute if Ecology's seminar

This week the institute seminar takes place on Thursday (9^th October) 10:00-11:30 in the room M-649. The quests from the University of Helsinki and Finnish Forest Institute will give short presentations about their research topics:

Maija Lampela – Reforestation of degraded tropical peatlands in Indonesian Borneo
Raija Laiho – How to measure fine root production in peatlands
Mari Könönen – Tropical peatlands, land-use and decomposition – studies in Central-Kalimantan, Indonesia
Markku Koskinen – Factors affecting DOC release from peat due to water level rise
Hui Zhang – Long-term high latitude peatland and carbon dynamics
Anuliina Putkinen – Sphagnum associated methanotrophs in pristine and disturbed peatlands
Liisa Maanavilja – Sphagnum growth in undrained, drained and rewetted spruce swamp forests
