Prof. Daniele Monticelli’s MA seminar, which took place in the Autumn semester of 2020 at Tallinn University, had as its theme “Illness: Narratives, Imagery, Politics”. Students explored the representation of illness in literature, film, and art and visual culture, analyzing a series of works spanning the 5th century BC to present day and applying different theoretical framework. 

Over the course of the semester they submitted a number of essays and creative works – videos, blogs, artworks, short stories, etc. The seminar culminates in an online exhibition of a selection of these creative works and essays and an open graduate conference on 27-28 January, where the students will present their final seminar papers.

The course assistant and curator of the online exhibition is Jaana Davidjants.
