The International Centre for Defence and Security, in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan, is pleased to invite you to a special lecture by Kazuya Sakamoto, Professor at Osaka University, entitled “Current Security Environment in East Asia and Japan’s Security Policy".

The lecture will be held on Wednesday, 18 March 2015 from 17:00 to 18:30 in Tallinn University, Uus-Sadama 5, auditorium M-225 (Mare Building).

In the quarter-century after the end of the Cold War, Japan's international environment in Asia has changed considerably. The lecture will examine how Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his government are strategically dealing with these changed surroundings, keeping in mind Japan's geopolitical and historical context as well as its global role.
