In this years Young Composers Lab concert of TLU Department of Music we introduce beside musical works created in several courses at the department also the award winning compositions of the 1st Digital Composition Contest for young composers aged 12–18 organized by the Department of Music.

In the first part of the concert we present chosen compositions created during the 2014 Spring course "Basics of musical composition" under supervision of musicology lecturer and composer Gerhard Lock.

In the second part of the concert we introduce the three award winning pieces of the 1st Digital Composition Contest 2014 in both age groups (12–15 and 16–18). The aim of the contest is to acknowledge and encourage young composers to go ahead on their creative path. The result of the contest shows the multiplicity of today's styles and approaches as well as the technical skills and fantasy of these young prospective composers.

In the third part of the concert we first present chosen shortfilm music of a student of the Sound Design Module under supervision of multimedia and sound design lecturer Avo Ulvik. The concert ends with chosen bands of the Department of Music.
