Environmental Law Centre, Estonian Fund for Nature and Estonian Green Movement in cooperation with Tallinn University are inviting to an open lecture about just transition. The lecture takes place in Tallinn University (room A121, Astra house, Narva mnt 29). on May 28 at 6:30 pm. The lecturer is Andreas Piwek - a just transition expert and representative of European Affairs in the city of Gelsenkirchen from Germany. Piwek has been leading the successful just transition process in the city of Gelsenkirchen. 

The lecture gives an overiview of the forementioned just transition process in Germany Ruhr area in Gelsenkirchen where coal and metal industries were closed in 1980's. Andreas Piwek talks about infrastructure transition (adaptive reuse and infrastructure redevelopment), energy transition (setting the foundation of sustainable energy systems), mobility transition and social transition. Also about impacts and stakeholders in the process of transition and results and outlook. Lecture is in English.
