The Number of Foreign Students Doubles at Tallinn University

A total of 222 new foreign students from 32 countries will start the new
academic year at Tallinn University this autumn. The number of
exchange students and also degree students has increased and the total
number of foreign students has almost doubled compared to last year, when
134 foreign students started their academic year at Tallinn University.This
increase includes 144 exchange students from 21 countries who will begin
their studies at Tallinn University this year. This represents a growth of
27% when compared to last year. The largest number of exchange
students arrived from Spain, Italy, Turkey and Germany. Among all the
Tallinn University Institutes and Colleges, the Institute of Political
Science and Governance, the Baltic Film and Media School and the Institute
of Germanic and Romance Languages and Culture will receive the largest
number of exchange students. A total of 78 foreign degree students will
also begin their studies at Tallinn University; 52 will begin their
bachelor level studies, 23 will begin their master level studies and 3
students will commence their doctoral studies. Last year Tallinn University
admitted 32 foreign degree students. As a result, the number of
foreign degree students has grown by 59%. Foreign exchange students come
from 22 countries, the most popular being Finland, Russia and Latvia. The
curricula of Catherine's College, the Law School, the Baltic Film and Media
School and the Institute of Political Science and Governance are the most
popular among foreign degree students.Collectively, 222 new foreign
students from 32 countries will arrive at Tallinn University. The largest
numbers of students will arrive from Finland (25), Spain (23), Italy (19),
Germany (17) and Turkey (15). In addition to the above-mentioned countries,
students will also come from Russia, Latvia, the USA, Brazil, Poland,
Belgium, Ukraine, Australia, Lithuania, Canada, Norway, Colombia, Hong
Kong, Japan, Iran, Ireland, Egypt, Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, France,
Korea, Hungary, Portugal, Greece, Austria, Bulgaria and Holland.
