The Rectorate is currently having talks with the heads of new units in order to determine the principles for creating non-academic positions. Samples of job descriptions have already been composed in collaboration with the administrative units of the University.
The general principle is that a director will be supported by a head of studies, a research coordinator and an administrative manager and/or an administrative assistant. Creating the position of administrative manager and/or administrative assistant will depend both on the size and tasks distribution of the institute.
The head of studies will collaborate with a study counsellor and study specialists, whose positions will be created according to the number of students and study programmes. Financial specialists will have double subordination, as they report both to the head of an institute and the director of facilities and finance. The continuing education staff will be subordinative to the director of the institute and the head of TU Open University.
The new positions are expected to be confirmed by the end of May. From then on, the reorganisation of non-academic staff positions begins, during which certain current employees will be offered positions in the merged units.
