Introduction

Merilyn Meristo works as an Associate Professor of French at Tallinn University. Besides teaching French she is also a teacher trainer of future foreign language teachers. She defended her PhD in educational sciences, she focused on novice teachers’ motivation, perceptions of self-efficacy and school climate. She also belongs to the worldwide community of Self-Determination Theory. For 4 years she has worked as a coordinator of English for Specific Purposes. Her research interests include teachers and students’ motivation, sense of community, language acquisition, CLIL, and ESP.
