Opening Ceremony for the 2014/2015 Academic Year

Opening Ceremonies marking the commencement of the 2014/2015 academic-year at Tallinn University  will be held in the Researchers’ Forum  at 12 Noon on Monday, 1 September.

Rector Professor Tiit Land, Professor Daniele Monticelli and Enelin Paas, the Chairman of the Board of the Student Union will join in extending their best wishes to the students and employees of Tallinn University for a great new academic year.

At the ceremony, the newly elected professors during the past year will also be introduced and they will be presented with their Professor’s Scarf:

• Daniele Monticelli, Professor of Italian Language and Culture
• Larissa Jõgi, Professor of Andragogy
• Madis Metsis, Professor of Biology

Work and studies on 1 September:

Please note that 1 September is both a normal working day as well as the ceremonial day for a new academic year. The opening ceremony is mainly intended for first year students. Classes scheduled for times during and after the Opening Ceremony may be subject to change according to agreements between lecturers and students.
