The public defence of TU Estonian Institute of Humanities doctoral student
Krista Aru’s PhD thesis „Estonian editor-centred journalism in the
evolving of a civil society and the development of a national culture,
focusing on a time period of 1890’s through the 1930’s in newspaper
Postimees (1886–1935)” will take place on Friday, October 22 at 14:00
in auditorium T-318 (TU Terra building, Narva Road 25).The supervisor of
the thesis is Rein Veidemann, professor of studies of cultures at TU
Estonian Institute of Humanities and the opponents of the thesis are Maarja
Lõhmus, PhD at Tartu University Institute of Journalism and Communications
and Toomas Karjahärm, senior research fellow at TU Institute of
History.The analytical overview of the PhD thesis is available for review
at TU Academic Library’s repository E-Ait two weeks before the defence.
