Professor M. Stéphane Lojkine, the University of Provence, will deliver a
public lecture entitled "Space Versus Time in Literature: Fahrenheit 451".
The lecture, which will be given in English, will be held in auditorium
M-340 (TU Mare building, Uus-Sadama 5) on Friday, April 29 at
14:15.François Truffaut’s film titled "Fahrenheit 451" will be screened
prior to the lecture at 12:00 in the same auditorium. The film is in
English, with French subtitles.M. Stéphane Lojkine is the Professor of
Literature of the 18th century and the Director of the Institute of
Literature at the University of Provence. He is coordinating an
interdisciplinary research project "Utpictura18" that focuses on the
interconnection between fiction and a picture and has published several
works on this issue. In his lecture at Tallinn University, Professor
Lojkine will talk about the contemporary tendencies in literature, using as
an example Ray Bradbury's novel "Fahrenheit 451".The lecture is organized
by the department of Romance languages at the Tallinn University Institute
of Germanic and Romance Languages and Culture in cooperation with the
department of Romance languages of the University of Tartu and the French
