Information session: degree studies at Hong Kong Polytechnic University

On May 22, the delegation of the Faculty of Humanities of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is visiting Tallinn University to explore the opportunities for academic collaboration with Tallinn University School of Humanities and introduce their postgraduate programmes to our students.

The Faculty of Humanities (FH) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University is an application-oriented faculty in the broader sense of the term. Gaining strength in areas such as speech therapy and health communication, FH is emerging as a leader in tertiary education in the fields of applied language sciences and bilingual China studies in Asia Pacific and the world. The programmes equip students with knowledge and practical application abilities essential in a wide range of professions. Their efforts are fast gaining international recognition while being ranked 106th in the world, and 20th in Asia. The subjects of Linguistics and History are among the top of universities in Hong Kong.

• Prof. Hung-lam Chu, Dean of Faculty of Humanities, Professor of Department of Chinese Culture, Director of Confucius Institute of Hong Kong, Cally Kwong Mei Wan Professor in Culture and Art, Chair Professor of Chinese Culture, Chang Jiang Scholars Chair Professor of Pre-modern Chinese History, specializing in Sinology, Chinese History and Chinese Culture. 

• Prof. Winnie Cheng, Associate Dean of Faculty of Humanities, Professor of Department of English, specializing in Intercultural Communication, Corpus Linguistics, Corpus Linguistics and Conversational Analysis.

• Prof. Shui-duen Chan, Member of Dean’s Executive Group, Professor of Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies, specializing in Chinese Language Teaching and Assessment, Chinese Register Study, Bilingual Communication and Sociolinguistics.
