Professor of International Relations and European Studies Mika Aaltola gives a public lecture entitled "Flows of Global Power and Implications to Estonia and Finland" as part of the Tallinn University Studia Generalia lecture series. The lecture is held in auditorium A543 (TU Astra building) on 6 March at 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome!
Global flows and flow security - e.g. maritime, cyber, financial dynamics - occupy an increasingly important place in the Baltic Sea region influencing the foreign policies of Finland and Estonia, as well as the dynamics of their interdependency. It is suggested that, in the years to come it will be a priority to secure the overall flow infrastructure, as the backbone of small state prosperity and of changing identity. The lecture will overview the changing security parameters in the Gulf of Finland region and map out how they will shape the nature of small states.
