Calcutta University History Professor Rajsekhar Basu gives a public lecture about Indo-EU relations as part of the Tallinn University Studia Generalia lecture series. The lecture is in R.Päts Auditorium (M213) on 22 November at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome!

Indo EU relations have been long standing since the time when India gained its independence from British Rule in 1947. India and EU  ties have been particularly strong in business and commerce. However, in the recent years, India has rapidly advanced in hi tech and information technology. Today, Indo-EU  relations stand at a crucial juncture, when the delay over signing the Free Trade Agreement is posing a great deal of problems to both the sides. India's close ties with China also impose a challenge to the future prospects of Indo-EU relations in matters of business and geo- political strategies.
