This is a 15-week course, incl. 8 lessons (one lesson lasts two academic hours, that is 90 minutes) in each week (7 weeks study + one week break + 7 weeks study) of which 4 lessons are of conversational practice, other hours are distributed between reading, listening and grammar. 
The course starts on September 2, 2024 and ends on December 13, 2024; following with the exam next week.

The weekly schedule of the course is as follows (as an example of this semester's schedule):
Monday: Conversation Practice + one week Structures and Translation/ the next week Listening to Russian Culture
Tuesday: Conversation Practice + Conversation Practice
Wednesday: Reading Russian Culture + Listening to Russian Culture
Thursday: Conversation Practice + Structures and Translation
Reading, Listening and Structure classes are also taught according to the communicative approach, topics of these classes are connected with the ones of Conversational Practice.

On Monday we start lessons at 14:15, so 2 pairs are 14:15-15:45 and 16:15-17:45. 
Tuesday to Thursday the lessons occurs at 10:15-13:45 and 12:15-13:45. 
The time for the Russian Speaking club is on Thursday at 17:00 (it is discussed with the students, when they are here, it can change every semester).


The student is expected to have a level of proficiency in Russian “A2”.
The lectures are expert teachers, whose native language is Russian.


For registration to the course, we need to have the student's name, date of birth, email address, semester of exchange and the field and level of studies to be sent by email to exchange@tlu.ee by 15th May 2024, after which each student will have to fill in an enrolment form on the SoleMove platform (details can be found here).


The cost of this course is 2900 euros per person. The price of the course is negotiable, if there is an agreement on cooperation between the sending university and Tallinn University, and if there will be a quorum of students to participate.

We are also offering extra free options to get more practice in Russian language:
  • the Russian Speaking Club once a week;
  • individual tutorship by Russian speaking students.
Additionally and for an extra fee we are welcoming international students to participate in:
  • various courses in cultural and social studies both in English and in Russian together with local students;
  • courses of other East and West European languages.
