TU Alumnus Özgür Baykara

I knew about Tallinn University and chose Law due to the possibility of having courses from well-known professors.

Özgür

What did you study, where are you from and when did you graduate?

I studied Law and graduated in January 2015.

What are the most important achievements in your life?

Surviving Estonian cold :)

What do you wish to accomplish in your current work?

To excel in my field of expertise and enable the society to benefit my research outcomes.

How have your university studies at TU helped you to achieve your goal?

Close connections to professors and the vision of the Shcool reflected on us, allowed me to perceive law in a much bigger context.

Why did you choose Estonia, Tallinn University and your specialty?

Frankly, I chose Estonia due to lower costs for living in the beginning, but this has turned in to an admiration for the country very quickly, making it one of the best decisions in my life. On the other hand, I knew about Tallinn University and chose Law due to the possibility of having courses from well-known professors.

What comes to your mind when you think back at your studies at TU?

That it all went very fast! And this because I was really enjoying my studies. Also, that I was amazed how well I was prepared for further law studies.

Do you have any recommendations to people who want to start their university studies and are looking for the right specialty?

I would strongly recommend to focus on studying subjects you enjoy and what makes you happy. The financial concerns related choices prove always to be the wrong ones.
