Professor Nino Tabeshadze at Tallinn University
Master's students in Communication Management and Management of Information Technology acquire the abilities needed to meet the complex challenges of managing business in a globally diverse and multicultural environment.
The collaborative efforts between the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) in Tbilisi, Georgia, and Tallinn University are currently underway. The significance of this cooperation cannot be overstated, considering that both universities are prominent in their countries, prioritizing the enhancement of research capabilities and fostering increased participation of teaching staff in Erasmus+ academic mobility.
With the support of the ERASMUS+ programme Key Action 1 between institutions from Programme and Partner countries, Professor Nino Tabeshadze gave lectures from the 6th to the 10th of November 2023. These lectures were part of the regular courses ‘Intercultural Communication’ and ‘Internationalization, Multiculturalism, and the Challenges for Business Management’. The course is part of the Master's Program in Communication Management.
Nino Tabeshadze holds a PhD in Culture Studies, focusing on interdisciplinary research, collective trauma, and coping mechanisms. Professor Tabeshadze's engaging lectures vividly covered the complex world of political communication, in particular the fascinating realm of slogans and profiles created by prominent politicians and political parties. In the complex mechanisms of diplomacy, leaders communicate through subtle handshakes, unpronounceable signals of punctuality, and the subtle language of approving or rejecting greetings. Through her insightful analyses, the audience gained an in-depth understanding of the subtleties of the artistry of political messaging and its impact on shaping public opinion.
ERASMUS+ teacher mobility between Tallinn and Tbilisi will continue in 2024. Dr Anastassia Zabrodskaja, Professor of Intercultural Communication and Head of the Communication Management master’s program, will be going to GIPA to teach and share experiences.
