The Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) in Maribor, Slovenia was a great experience that left a lasting impression. Over the five-day programme I had the opportunity to meet people from Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia and work in an international team on a challenge set by Povio, a San-Francisco based design and development company. Although the programme was intensive, we still had time to discover the lovely town of Maribor, which included trying out ice cream places - there were many! Here’s a tip I learned from a local: instead of getting one ice cream scoop, ask for half a scoop of one and half a scoop of another flavour. This way you’re given more ice cream and get to try two flavours for the price of one. One of my favourite parts of the programme was the cultural evening where all participants had prepared a presentation about their home countries. It was cool to see the blend of similarities and unique distinctions among our diverse backgrounds. I also loved tasting foreign foods and seeing people try out and savour our beloved Kalev sweets. I 100% recommend BIP for everyone who is interested in meeting new people, immersing themselves in diverse cultures, and embarking on a little adventure!

Have you ever contemplated the enriching possibilities of an international exchange program? I had the incredible opportunity to participate in one in Maribor through the Erasmus+ Autumn Tech School, and the experience was nothing short of transformative. Alongside a diverse team, we tackled a real-world corporate challenge, devising a knowledge-sharing system that not only met but exceeded the jury's expectations. This wasn't merely an academic feat; it was also a hands-on tutorial in effective communication, teamwork, and skill development in a multicultural setting. As a bonus, the weather in Maribor was absolutely splendid, serving as the ideal backdrop for exploring the local natural landscapes. The experience was a holistic one that combined academic rigor with personal growth and an expansion of my cultural horizons. If you've been on the fence about participating in an exchange program, let me assure you, it's worth taking that transformative leap.

I had the privilege of partaking in the Academia College of Technology's short intensive program in Maribor, Slovenia, during the recent Autumn Tech School session. It proved to be a truly life-changing experience. The combination of academic challenge and Maribor's serene ambiance provided an optimal setting for both learning and my personal growth. Not only did the program enhance my knowledge and technical proficiency, but it also introduced me to a vibrant and diverse community of fellow students and passionate faculty members who shared my passion for technology. This indelible encounter has significantly shaped both my academic and personal journey, and I am deeply appreciative of the opportunity to be a part of it.

I wish to express my gratitude to the School of Digital Technologies at Tallinn University for enabling me to participate in the Autumn Tech School in Maribor, Slovenia. This experience was incredibly enriching as it provided me with extensive insights into software design and development, serving as a valuable complement to my ongoing studies at Tallinn University. Participating in the POVIO challenge was an invaluable opportunity that allowed me to gain hands-on experience in leading a team of developers and designers, working collaboratively to devise technical solutions for actual clients. I strongly believe that this experience significantly enhanced my skills and better equipped me to tackle real-life challenges.
