In March 2023 Tallinn University hosted a delegation from the University of Ghana (UG). The visit was made in the spirit of the international cooperation between the management of Tallinn University, the School of Digital Technologies and the School of Governance, Law and Society on one hand and the University of Ghana’s Delegation with schools from UG – School of Continuing Education (SCDE) and Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD) on the other hand in the frame of Higher Education Erasmus Plus Mobility Agreement.

The mission of the visit was to explore further opportunities beyond the mobility agreements between Tallinn University and the University of Ghana. Meetings were held at both the Management and School (Institute) levels.

At the management level, the delegation met the Rector and his team; detailed discussions were held in the context of finding ways to consolidate the cooperation that has been initiated. The discussion was led by Strategy manager Mikk Kasesalk and Senior Specialist of International Cooperation of Strategy Office Anete Elken. It was discussed a possibility of creating an Estonian language and culture centre at LECIAD to orient staff and students embarking on mobility trips to Estonia and Ghana.

At the Schools level, the delegation meetings were held with the Directors of the School of Digital Technologies and School of Governance, Law and Society. Discussions with the school heads focused on exploring very specific areas where institutional collaboration could be developed.

The delegation also had the opportunity to visit School XXI where the Vice Principal of the School Juta Hirv warmly welcomed the team. They acquainted themselves with the Estonian school systems and inherent school activities.
