UAE Delegation Explores Estonia’s Educational Excellence
This week, we had the honor of hosting a delegation from the United Arab Emirates' Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research (AQF). The visit aimed to deepen the delegation’s understanding of Estonia’s education system's success and explore avenues for collaboration between the two countries.

“We knew you are doing very well in international testing and have an excellent education system,” said Dr. Natasha Ridge, Executive Director of AQF. Hanadi Mohammed, Education and Community Development Manager at AQF, was equally impressed, stating, “Teachers in Estonia have a deep mission to support the students and their well-being, with a strong emphasis on fostering happy learners.”
The delegation highlighted their admiration for the dedication and passion of Estonian educators. “We are very impressed with the people, their commitment to education, and their love for their country. Teachers here are deeply devoted to their work,” Dr. Ridge added.
Over the five-day visit, the UAE representatives delved into Estonia’s educational and innovation ecosystem. Their itinerary included a visit to Tallinn’s Ülemiste City, discussions with the Estonian Quality Agency of Education (HAKA), a tour of the Rakett 69 Science Studio, and observation lessons at Rocca al Mare School. The delegation also spent a day in Kohila and attended a lecture on the factors behind Estonia’s success in PISA rankings and teacher education processes.
“We really enjoyed our time here and hope to return for deeper collaboration, bringing some Estonian influence back to the UAE,” Dr. Ridge said, expressing optimism for future partnerships.
The visit underscores Estonia’s reputation as a global leader in education and its commitment to sharing best practices with the world.
