The lecturer is Brenda Morton, whose research interests include the impact of trauma on the academic outcomes of P-20 students, at-risk youth, and life outcomes of foster children. Brenda Morton is an Associate Professor at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Texas (US) and since 2021 a visiting professor and respected lecturer at TLU.

This research seminar presents information on academic aspirations and barriers to academic achievement foster youth experience. Brenda Morton discusses the importance of phenomenological methodology, when working with vulnerable populations. She also shares findings from previous studies she conducted and discuss research, that begins in April. Lastly, she shares the research she plans to conduct with students at Tallinn University. 

Brenda Morton is currently in Estonia with the Fulbright Specialist Program. The program pairs highly qualified US academics and professionals with host institutions to share their expertise, strengthen institutional linkages and build sustainable relationships with American professionals.
