Bachelor’s degree programmes

The access requirement to Bachelor's studies is secondary education or a corresponding qualification.

If your studies include transferred credits from other institutions, transcripts from these must also be uploaded.

Master’s degree programmes

The access requirement to Master’s studies is a Bachelor’s degree, a diploma of professional higher education or a corresponding qualification.

PhD programmes

The access requirement to PhD studies is a Master’s degree or a corresponding qualification.

The following documents* must be uploaded to the online application system:

  • Bachelor's degree certificate or certificate of a corresponding qualification
  • Bachelor's degree academic transcript** and/or diploma supplement
  • Master's degree certificate or certificate of a corresponding qualification
  • Master's degree academic transcript** and/or diploma supplement

** If your studies include transferred credits from other institutions, transcripts from these must also be uploaded.

Please note: At least 60% of maximum possible results is expected in both Bachelor's and Master's in order to qualify for PhD studies at Tallinn University.

Language requirements

Applicants who have obtained Latvian general secondary education less than ten years ago by the start of their studies, do not have to prove their language proficiency if they have obtained at least grade "A" or "B" in their English language exam or a result corresponding to at least CEFR B2 in their Vispārējās vidējās izglītības sertifikāts.

Please note: In order to prove English language proficiency with the exam results, Vispārējās vidējās izglītības sertifikāts – angļu valodā must be uploaded to the online application system. An official translation into English must also be included if the original document is in another language.

All other applicants are required to provide proof of their English proficiency. Acceptable English language tests and exempt categories can be seen here.
