Introduction

Ene Varik-Maasik is Associate Professor of Special Education at Tallinn University. She has a degree in speech and language therapy and a specialisation in teaching children with intellectual disabilities from the University of Tartu. She holds a Master of Education and a Doctor of Philosophy from Tallinn University. Ene Varik-Maasik has been working at Tallinn University since 2006. Her professional interests include adapting the education of pupils with learning difficulties and learning disabilities, writing difficulties, as well as speech and language pathology. Ene has actively contributed to curriculum development in special education and inclusive education and is the head of the undergraduate curriculum in special education since 2019. She has participated in several Estonian and international projects.
Ene would like to collaborate on projects where she can apply her knowledge in special education, educational sciences, as well as speech and language therapy.

Main tasks

Teaching, research, training, supervision of bachelor and master theses.

Areas of research

Ene's research focuses on the development and teaching of learners with learning difficulties, and in recent years she has contributed to the design and data analysis of student and teacher surveys at Tallinn University.
