Birgit Poopuu

Dr Birgit Poopuu is an Associate Professor of International Relations and Head of the International Relations and Futures Studies study area at Tallinn University’s School of Governance, Law and Society. She is the author of The European Union's Brand of Peacebuilding: Acting is Everything (Palgrave Macmillan). Her research is curious about the role of radical and nonviolent knowledge and experience within international politics, and her focus is on feminist and decolonial approaches to peace and conflict studies. Her recent research projects have explored the Syrian revolution through the eyes of Syrian activists.
