Connecting Cultures: Eurocampus 2025 in Paris

Eurocampus is scheduled to take place at the Inalco (Paris, France) in the fall of 2025.

Eurocampus

Eurocampus, the hallmark program of the European Masters in Intercultural Communication (EMICC), is set to take place at the Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales (Inalco) in Paris during the fall of 2025. This event marks another milestone in fostering international collaboration and academic excellence in the field of intercultural communication.

To prepare for the 2025 session, a Eurocampus preparatory meeting was held on January 9-10, 2025, at Inalco. Professors and coordinators specializing in intercultural communication convened to discuss key organizational, pedagogical, and curricular aspects. The meeting focused on designing a comprehensive and impactful learning experience that addresses contemporary challenges in intercultural dialogue.

The EMICC network, spearheaded by Tallinn University Baltic Film, Media and Arts School, brings together seven prestigious European universities. These include Universität Bayreuth (Germany), University of Jyväskylä (Finland), Universidade Aberta (Portugal), Inalco (France), Università degli Studi di Urbino Carlo Bo (Italy), and Utrecht University (The Netherlands).

Saying goodbye to experienced professors has been a poignant moment for the network. We bid farewell to three esteemed EMICC professors who significantly contributed to the programme over the years: Professor Marie-Thérèse Claes (Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria), who was part of the network from 2002; Professor Bertil Cottier (Università della Svizzera italiana, Lugano, Switzerland), who joined in 2005; and Professor Emeritus Guido Rings (Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, United Kingdom), who joined in 2008.

The new partners joining the network are the University of Madeira (Madeira, Portugal), the University of Seville (Seville, Spain), and the University of St Andrews (St Andrews, Scotland, United Kingdom). This network represents a diverse academic collaboration aimed at enhancing understanding and research in intercultural communication.

At the heart of EMICC is the annual Eurocampus—a unique, four-month intensive program where up to five students from each partner university come together to learn from leading professors in the network. The Eurocampus provides a dynamic platform for cultural exchange, academic exploration, and the development of global competencies among students.

Students enrolled in the Master’s Program in Communication Management at Tallinn University Baltic Film, Media and Arts School have a unique opportunity to participate in the Eurocampus program through the Erasmus+ exchange. This allows them to engage in a transformative learning experience, build international networks, and gain valuable insights into intercultural communication practices across diverse contexts.

Eurocampus 2025 promises to be an enriching academic and cultural experience, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the EMICC network and its commitment to connecting cultures across Europe and beyond.
