Staff from Tallinn University participates in more than 30 debates at the Opinion Festival

More than 140 topics will be discussed on 12 and 13 August at the Opinion Festival, which is celebrating its tenth birthday this year. Staff from Tallinn University (TLU) will participate in more than 30 discussions as panelists or discussion leaders. This year, there are also several discussions in English. Here are the following, in which our people take part as well.

Friday, 12 August 

From 2:00 p.m to 3:30 p.m., Indrek Ibrus, Professor of Media Innovation at the Baltic Film, Media ja Arts School (BFM), will participate in the discussion “Navigating next-gen technologies for culture“ which will be held at the Digital Wisdom area (Digitarkuse ala).

From 4:00 p.m to 5:30 p.m., Mari-Liis Jakobson, Associate Professor of Political Sociology at the School of Governance, Law and Society, will lead the discussion “Are migration crises the new normal in Europe?“ which will take place at the Migration area (Migratsiooni ala).

From 6:00 p.m to 7:30 p.m., Catlyn Kirna, Lecturer of International Relations at School of Governance, Law and Society, will lead the discussion “Technology: always a 35 years old white man’s world“, which will take place at the Digital Wisdom area (Digitarkuse ala).

Saturday, 13 August

From 12:00 p.m to 1:30 p.m., TLUs Senior Research and Development adviser Mahendra Mahey will lead the discussion „Moving towards a more inclusive society“, which will take place at the War and Peace area (Sõja ja rahu ala).
