Introduction

Merike Sisask, PhD in sociology in 2011, Professor of Social Healthcare at the School of Governance, Law and Society of Tallinn University. She is board member of the Estonian-Swedish Mental Health and Suicidology Institute (ERSI), council member of the Estonian Mental Health and Well-being Coalition (VATEK), member of the Estonian Bioethics and Human Research Council (EBIN). Her main research areas are social determinants of mental health and well-being, prevention of suicidal behaviours and evaluation of prevention programmes for mental health in the community. She was the Estonian coordinator of the H2020 project DigiGen (The impact of technological transformations on the digital generation, 2019-2022) and editor-in-chief of the Estonia Human Development Report 2023 “Mental Health and Well-being”.
