Jaanus Terasmaa

Introduction
Jaanus Terasmaa is a tenure-track professor of ecohydrology at the Institute of Ecology, Tallinn University. He earned his PhD in 2005 in paleolimnology, but his work now spans limnology, water management, ecosystem services, and climate change. He is active in environmental education and digital learning innovation. Terasmaa developed the outdoor learning platform Avastusrada (avastusrada.ee) and contributes to citizen science projects like Allikad.info and Veestik.info, promoting public engagement in environmental monitoring. He co-founded SEEMIK (seemik.tlu.ee), an interdisciplinary research group supporting sustainability education, and is part of the KEKO cluster, connecting research with societal needs. His teaching and research also address environmental justice, degrowth, and systemic sustainability, offering critical perspectives on climate change. He serves on the Tallinn University Senate and participates in national and international collaboration in hydrology.
