Marianne Paimre

Marianne Paimre holds two doctoral degrees: a PhD in Journalism and a PhD in Information Society Technologies. Her research focuses on the interplay between the information society, media, technology, and society. She earned her PhD in Journalism from University of Jyväskylä in 2013 and her PhD in Information Society Technologies from Tallinn University in 2026. Her research explores the interactions between technology and society, digital information behaviour, online health information seeking and use, and media representations. She has published dozens of scholarly publications, more than 15 of which are indexed in Web of Science. The bachelor's and master's theses she has supervised have received recognition, and she regularly contributes to public discussions through appearances in the Estonian media.
