Introduction

Marianne Paimre is a PhD in Journalism and a researcher focusing on the intersections of information society, media, and technology. She earned her doctoral degree from the University of Jyväskylä in 2013 and is currently completing a second PhD, which examines online health information behavior among older adults in Estonia. Her research addresses the interactions between technology and society, media representations, digital information behavior, and patterns of health information use. She has published dozens of academic articles, 15 of which are indexed in Web of Science. The bachelor’s and master’s theses she has supervised have received academic recognition. In addition to her academic work, she actively participates in public debate and regularly contributes to the Estonian media.
