"Chinese Bridge" Global Chinese Proficiency Competition for Secondary School Students

The participants must be 15-20 years of age and studying Chinese at an Estonian secondary school. The Estonian preliminary round of the competition will be held on April 18th 2019 at Tallinn University. The final round of “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary Students will be held in China in October 2019. 
 

Competition program:

  1. a speech held in Chinese on a given topic, 1-2 minutes 
  2. answering 1-2 questions to demonstrate Chinese proficiency 
  3. talent show, 1-3 minutes (the performance must be related to Chinese culture) 
  4. written exam on general knowledge of China

The two winners of the Estonian preliminary round will represent the Estonian team at the final round of “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary Students held in China in October 2019.

Ideas for performance - singing, dancing, painting, calligraphy, paper cutting, wushu, acrobatics, poetry, drama etc.

Performance criteria:

  • 1-3 minutes long
  • related to Chinese culture
  • background music/video of good quality
  • aesthetically refined and pleasing to watch 
  • performer is dressed in a costume that supports the performance

NB! Students that do not wish to take part in the competition, but are registered to take part in the Summer Camp in China must at least perform a talent during the Chinese Bridge competition talent show!
