Buying kettledrums for the orchestra
The Tallinn University Symphony Orchestra is a young, capable and developing group that needs a steady base – kettledrums – to reach their full sound potential.
- Kettledrums are one of the most important instruments in a symphony orchestra, because a big part of classical orchestra repertoire is based on them.
- Due to the fact that kettledrums are big and very expensive, most players cannot buy their own instrument, unlike the orchestra members who play a smaller instrument.
- Another issue with buying kettledrums is that one instrument is not enough, because unlike a piano, which can be used to play tens of notes simultaneously, only one note at a time can be played on a kettledrum.
Let’s buy kettledrums for the Tallinn University Symphony Orchestra – contribute today!
