Morning Seminar: Intersections of Humanities and Sustainable Development

iCal calendarOn 24 September, 10:00–11:30, KEKO and SustainERA invite you to a Morning Workshop, where we will explore how the humanities and sustainable development intersect and what challenges this poses for research. The event is open to KEKO II members as well as all colleagues interested in the topic. The morning will begin with coffee and informal exchange in the ELU area.

10:00–10:15 Morning coffee & introduction to KEKO II activities 2025–2027 – Katrin Männik
10:15–11:00
• Humanities intersections (landscape architecture, environmental humanities, degrowth, mobility, conceptions of time) – Tarmo Pikner, Liisi Keedus
• The philosophy of degrowth – Liisi Keedus
11:00–11:30 Collaborative “speed networking” among KEKO participants: 2-minute conversations to discover new opportunities for cooperation
Additional information:
The Morning Workshop is part of KEKO II activities, which aim to broaden collaboration and increase engagement with sustainability-related themes. With new PhD students and postdocs joining the SustainERA team this autumn, new opportunities for joint research ideas will also emerge.

Looking ahead: On 8 October, 14:00–17:00, we will launch the KEKO II development seminars. The first seminar will be organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture and the Estonian University of Life Sciences, focusing on the topic of circular bioeconomy.
