Tallinn University in QS Rankings

This year, Tallinn University reached the QS World University Rankings by Subject with two of our focus fields: education, which holds the position of 251-300, and sociology, which holds the position of 301-320. This is the first time Tallinn University is named in the education subject category. However, sociology has held a position of 251-300 before, two years ago

"We are glad that the education field has reached QS rankings," said Tiia Õun, the Director of the School of Educational Sciences. "I believe that the key to such achievement comes from the high level of international cooperation and research. I also believe that our trustworthy reputation among employers and international partners has a part in this as well."

Tiia added that they are proud of and thankful to all colleagues and partners, thanks to whom this position in the QS rankings is possible. "The rise of education has also been supported by the development and support of educational innovation as a focus area in the university and in our international projects," expressed Õun.

Each year, QS compiles a ranking list of the world's universities, which is based on six parameters. Rankings take into account the academic reputation of the university, the preparation of students for the labor market, the ratio of lecturers to students, the number of citations of university researchers, internationalisation and the share of international students.
