One of the most necessary lessons I have learned is the importance of respecting each other's cultural differences!

This year the Master's Programme in Communication Management is celebrating its 10th anniversary. As part of the celebrations, we are conducting a series of interviews with our alumni to highlight their achievements and share their experiences.

In 2021, I graduated from the MA program in Communication Management and started working as a content analyst for a sports service provider company. Although I was new to the field of sports, the experience I gained from the program allowed me to ask the right questions to step into this new area. I learned a lot from the experienced employees and grew quickly in this role.

Currently, I work at a start-up responsible for content marketing, serving merchants from all over the world, with English being the primary communication medium. Handling the e-commerce service is another new area for me, but I have been able to learn quickly by raising questions to AI tools like ChatGPT, which have provided me with prompt and proper answers. One crucial lesson I learned from the MA program is the importance of respecting each other's cultural background. By having this awareness, I know how to raise the right questions and generate the right content for the local market, which is likely to prevent a PR crisis at the very beginning.

Regarding the MA program, I found it to be highly beneficial. It provided me with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed in my career. The program helped me develop the skills needed for my current job and provided me with a broader understanding of the field of communication management.

My life in Tallinn has been an enriching experience. The city has a vibrant culture and offers many opportunities to meet people from all over the world. I have been able to work in diverse roles in different industries, which allowed me to gain a broader understanding of different fields. I am grateful for the experiences and knowledge I have gained, and I look forward to continuing to learn and grow in my career.

Regarding my opinion on future career development, I believe that nobody can instantly adopt the skills required for a job. The key is to learn and adapt to the work environment through tutorials, by asking the right questions to the proper experts. The world is evolving at an incredible speed, and the knowledge you learn today might be outdated tomorrow. Therefore, the ability to learn is essential. Raising questions, receiving answers, and learning by oneself is like a mechanism that helps us stay relevant and up-to-date in our field, especially when we feel like a 'fish out of water' in a new job or field.
