The team observed how the Science Kitchen links scientific inquiry with hands-on learning, emphasising environmental protection, circular economy, food safety, and healthy diets. By using laboratory methods within cooking and food preparation, the Science Kitchen offers learners of all levels opportunities for experimentation, discovery, and critical inquiry.

Strong pedagogical foundations ensure workshops are adapted to diverse audiences from secondary school students to teachers and adults pursuing professional training or micro-degrees. The ATU St. Angela’s team also noted the centre’s collaborative, interdisciplinary approach, engaging researchers from multiple fields and industry partners.

Overall, the visit highlighted the Science Kitchen’s role as a European hub for research, education, and innovation in Home Economics, showing how interdisciplinary environments can equip individuals with the knowledge and skills needed for sustainable living.
