The Digital Transformation and Lifelong Learning research group is participating in RECOM project!

The Digital Transformation and Lifelong Learning research group of the School of Digital Technologies is participating in RECOM (Redesigning Introductory Computer Programming Using Online Modules) project, where Tallinn University is part of a seven (7) member consortium including: Yildiz Technical University - Turkey, Burgaski Svoboden Universitet -Bulgaria, Universita Degli Studi Di Palermo –Italy, Karabuk University – Turkey, Univerza V Ljubljani – Slovenia, Tallinn University – Estonia, Board Of European Students of Technology, Belgium.

In  May 13-15, 2022, research fellow James Sunney Quaicoe and junior research fellow Juri Mets from  the School of Digital Technologies In Tallinn University took part in RECOM (Redesigning Introductory Computer Programming Using Online Modules) project meeting in Istanbul, Turkey. During that meeting they organized a workshop on “Designing an expanded scheme of work for lesson delivery and lesson materials preparation. Yildiz Technical University played host to the event – under the auspices of Professors Huseyin UVET and Tuba UĞRAŞ.

Already later in 8th -10th September 2022 RECOM project's Meeting took place  in Ljubljana, Slovenia where the consortium was hosted by Slavko Kocijančič, David Rihtarsic and Špela Cerar from the Faculty of Education of the University of Ljubljana.

All the seven members of the consortium were represented at the project meeting. James Sunney Quaicoe and research fellow Abiodun Afolayan Ogunyemi from Tallinn University, School of Digital Technologies, Digital Transformation and Lifelong Learning Research Group led a review session for Output 4 of the Project which is about designing learner-centered educational materials and teaching and learning scenarios. The pictures below show some of the activities undertaken during the meeting.

The next project activity will take place in Tallinn from 30.01.2023- 02.02.2023, in the frame of which will be held training workshops for technical/vocational and engineering educators. The contents of the training will be based on using RECOM Project outputs - Teaching guidebook, educational video tutorial, mobile games and e-quizzes in a learner-centered instructional scenarios.
