Tallinn Summer School 2025: Highlights and Experiences
This summer, Tallinn University’s Summer School welcomed 389 participants from 56 countries, offering 19 courses and 5 workshops across a wide range of disciplines. While two courses were cancelled due to low enrolment, the programme overall was a resounding success, attracting participants from China, Germany, the USA, Estonia, France, Singapore, the UK, and many more.
The most popular courses remained language programmes. Other highlights included Creative Writing in English led by the English writer with Estonian roots Ian Thomson, Generative AI for Writing and Research, Basics of Photography and Videography. The School Violence: Prevention, Response, and Recovery course also stood out, receiving top marks (10/10) from all its participants. Digital innovation continued to be a strong focus, with workshops on Gamification, Serious Games, Experimental Interaction Design, and Design of Digital Services for Health Behaviour Change.
Beyond academics, participants engaged in a lively cultural programme, including excursions, museum visits, and international evenings. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive: 95.3% of participants would recommend Tallinn Summer School to a friend or colleague. Overall satisfaction averaged 8.9/10, with teachers receiving the highest rating (9.2/10).
As one participant summarised: “Tallinn Summer School was a life-changing experience – not just for learning, but for making friends from around the world and exploring Estonia together.”
We thank all our students, teachers, volunteers, and partners for making Tallinn Summer School 2025 a success.
See you again at Tallinn Winter School and in Summer 2026!
