Introduction
Merilin Kotta holds a bachelor’s degree in History from Tallinn University, MA and PhD degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Tartu University. As an exchange student she studied Catalan Philology at the universities of Girona, Valencia and Balearic Islands. Her PhD thesis dealt with the writing process in current short stories. She has translated Catalan (Riera, Sarrià), Basque (Uribe, Atxaga), Mexican (Fuentes), Spanish (Cercas) and Colombian (García Márquez) literature.
