Introduction

Eliis Ait is a Junior Research Fellow at the School of Educational Sciences, Tallinn University. Her academic work is connected to the fields of educational sciences and special education. Her educational and professional development has evolved in close relation to teaching and educational development practices. She completed her master’s degree in Special Education and Counselling in 2014, focusing her thesis on the implementation of individualized curricula. Since 2018, she has been teaching as a Visiting Lecturer and from 2025 she continues as a Junior Research Fellow. In her academic work, she values an interdisciplinary approach that integrates educational, psychological, and social perspectives, emphasizing that learner development depends on both individual preconditions and the functioning of the educational environment. Through her research and teaching, she contributes to discussions and projects on the understanding of learning and the accessibility of education.

Teaching at the bachelor's and master's levels in teacher education and special education.

Supervision of students’ theses in the fields of special education and inclusive education.

Contribution to the research network of the Centre for Educational Psychology.

Conducting continuing education trainings.
