Inspiring Social Innovation: Dr. Urmanavičienė at Vilnius College

November 4–8, 2024. Social Entrepreneurship Program Lecturer Dr. Audronė Urmanavičienė visited the Department of Social Welfare, Faculty of Pedagogy, Vilnius College, under the Erasmus+ mobility programme.

Erasmus+ mobility

During the visit, the lecturer presented Tallinn's University social entrepreneurship master program (more information: Home - Social Entrepreneurship MA Program) and gave lectures to students in the social work study program, aiming to enrich their knowledge of social entrepreneurship. The main goal of the mobility program was to promote the inclusion of social entrepreneurship and social innovations in social work curricula. This will help to develop future social workers who can creatively solve societal challenges and contribute to the development of social responsibility.

In her lectures, Dr. Audronė Urmanavičienė emphasized the importance of social entrepreneurship in solving social problems and developing sustainable initiatives. Students actively participated in discussions and practical sessions that encouraged innovative thinking and the search for creative solutions. Such visits not only broaden the horizons of students, but also contribute to the development of socially responsible and entrepreneurial specialists.

Students provided feedback and shared their insights: “the lectures opened my eyes to topics that had not yet been explored, I learned about social innovations in social work”, “I felt motivated, interested, social business was still a door that had not been opened to me”. Vilnius College thanked Dr. Audrone Urmanavičienė for the visit and looks forward to further cooperation with Tallinn University.
