DTI researchers led the international project “Resonant Memories”
Resonant Memories is an international art and science project led by researchers from the Tallinn University School of Digital Technologies. It was developed as part of the EU Digital Deal residency programme and curated by Ars Electronica (Austria). The project was hosted by the Center for the Promotion of Science (Serbia).
Led by Yulia Valerievna Sion, Analyst, and Nuno N. Correia, Associate Professor in Digital Transformation from Tallinn University’s School of Digital Technologies (DTI), the project explores how technology can bridge the gap between generations through the sharing of personal memories.
Engaging elderly participants in Serbia, the project collects stories – particularly those related to technology, and translates them into interactive sculptures that combine vibration, sound, and texture. These multisensory artefacts invite visitors to experience the emotional resonance of the memories through touch and sound, fostering empathy and understanding between younger and older generations.
The project’s methodology builds on Yulia Sion’s previous research, Vibmory, which explores the tactile representation of memories. The resulting interactive sculptures were on display at Silosi Gallery in Belgrade from October 7 to 26, 2025.
