Academic Committee
The purpose of the Academic Committee of the Institute of Educational Sciences is to analyse appeals and issues related to teaching and research activities as well as academic life, and to provide them with an impartial assessment.
The duties of the Committee are as follows:
1) to analyse appeals and complaints submitted by students and to provide them with an impartial assessment;
2) to analyse complaints submitted by institute staff members and to provide them with an impartial assessment;
3) to analyse issues related to academic work and to provide them with an impartial assessment (including more complex cases of plagiarism);
4) to analyse other issues or conflicts related to university life (which cannot be resolved on the basis of existing regulations and/or which require an impartial assessment) and to provide an evaluation.
Procedural Rules
The Committee convenes when appeals and complaints arise that cannot be resolved by the HTI Head of Studies on the basis of the Study Regulations or other university regulations, or when the parties are not satisfied with the proposed solution. In cases of appeals and complaints, the Committee facilitates communication between the parties, provides an impartial assessment of the situation, and submits proposals to the Director for resolving the matter and making a decision. Where necessary, the Committee may involve the HTI Academic Council or Council in order to find a solution to the issue. The Committee may also, where appropriate, recommend that the complainant or appellant refer issues that the Committee cannot resolve to the TLU Ethics Committee or other relevant units.
