Born on 3 January 1970
1993 – graduated from Tallinn Pedagogical University in the speciality of the teacher of physics
1996 – 1999 was a DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) scholarship holder at the University of Kiel
1999 – was awarded a doctoral degree (PhD) in physics didactics from the University of Kiel; habilitated in 2002
As of 2005, worked at Tallinn University as a senior researcher, research professor and dean
2005 - was a DAAD scholarship holder at the University of Kiel
2006 – 2007 was a Fulbright grantee at the University of West Florida
2009 – was elected for the position of Professor in Didactics of Natural Sciences at Tallinn University
As of 2009, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Tallinn University
September 1, 2020 - May 14, 2021 Acting Rector of Tallinn University

The main research areas of Professor Priit Reiska are interdisciplinary studies and the use of concept mapping in learning and for assessing students’ knowledge.

Two doctoral theses have been defended under his supervision.

Professor Priit Reiska is a member of several international research organisations in the field of didactics of natural sciences.
